ESGF-Data Portal: Registration and use
To be able to use ESGF, you must register as a user. On this occasion, we also collect personal data like given name (First Name), surname, e-mail address, user name as well as, optionally: the second given name (Middle Name), Organisation, City (State -) country (State), country (Country). Besides, you must select a separate password; this is stored encoded, of course. The thus collected information is stored on a server of the DKRZ.
If you want to download data from the data nodes operated by us, you must log in first with your OpenID; here, the log in with an OpenID not created with the PIK is also possible. For authentication for the ESGF data node operated by us, you must then also enter the password you chose. Then you can download climatic data and optionally carry out a group registration. On this occasion, personal data (IP- address, OpenID, downloaded data) are also collected by us.
These data will also be collected if you decide for a download with the "Wget"- script.
The thus collected data are stored only on our servers for the purpose and for the duration of the use of the ESGF- node operated by us and are not disclosed to any third party.
Withdrawal of consent for the collection, processing and use of your data
